BEHIND THE BRAND

Irish Artist and Designer Carolyn Walsh is originally from County Kerry and is now living and working in Dublin as both an Artist and Graphic Designer. Carolyn began her career in art after studying Textile Design in GMIT followed by an MA in Professional Design Practice in DIT.

Carolyn's work is inspired by the beauty and character of the places that hold a special meaning in our lives. Using a combination of photography, paint, image transfers, collage and print Carolyn creates bold, colourful pieces that reimagine famous landmarks, our beloved pubs and romantic wedding venues. Carolyns art celebrates these spaces and also creates a lovely personal connection to the subject, offering clients a fresh perspective on the environments that shape their memories and communities while adding a sentimental value to their homes.

The creative process blends mediums to achieve a layered effect. Photography captures the essence and intricate details of each location, while painting allows Carolyn to create texture, depth and energy with a vivid colour palette. Printmaking/transfer printing and sometimes playful collage ties these elements together to create the finished piece. The original artwork is then scanned and printed on a 310gsm fabriano artistico watercolour rag to create a series of limited edition prints.

In addition to selling original artwork and limited edition prints Carolyn also takes on a number of commissions each year so please don't hesitate to get in touch. These bespoke pieces make for the perfect addition to your art collection or for a thoughtful gift to a loved one.

Carolyn has exhibited country wide and has also a number of pieces in the collection of the OPW. In addition to this her work has been published in books and magazines worldwide.
